King County Housing Authority is currently recruiting for a talented Business Systems Analyst - Yardi to join the Information Technology department located in Tukwila, Washington. This is a new opportunity as the Agency begins the process to migrate/transition to a new Property Management Software, Yardi, in the upcoming year.

This Business Systems Analyst - Yardi will perform intermediate skilled technical work coordinating and assisting in the design, development, and implementation of business systems supporting core organizational functions and business processes for Agency departments using Yardi; troubleshooting system technical issues and providing solutions. Additionally, the successful incumbent will serve as a lead in determining need and requirements for business system projects, meeting with stakeholders to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems; providing first tier support for Yardi systems, and preparing and maintaining a variety of files, records, and reports.

After initial onboarding, the work associated with this position will be performed predominantly by teleworking, with onsite work and meetings as needed. Employees must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance to the Tukwila offices to attend in-person activities.

Essential Functions

The Business Systems Analyst will:

  • Serve as the first line of support for the Yardi system; document and report Yardi system technical issues; perform tasks and resolution work such as modifications, account creation, logon problems, folder deletion and retrieval, use of forms, and workflow.
  • Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve software incidents and problems; support user testing of software updates and system changes; debug reports and codes by testing for and fixing errors.
  • Develop, prepare, and submit a variety of operational and management reports for business unit end-users and decision makers including special reports, records, and statistical information; perform research and quality control to ensure accuracy of data; collects new data and refine existing data sources.
  • Assist in the acquisition and deployment of new or enhanced applications or additional functionality; serve as a project lead, coordinate with end-users, managers, vendors, and other stakeholders during analysis, requirement definition, and development phases of new or enhanced systems and applications.
  • Coordinate testing for modified and new software functionality; meet with decision makers, system owners and end users to define business, financial and operations requirements and system goals; review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging systems; analyze and document relevant business processes; assist to help ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
  • Develop curriculum and train employees on use of Agency applications.
  • Provide first tier support for database management functions; create and/or modify SQL queries/scripts; import/export databases from production to development environment; monitor server for job alerts and take corrective actions as necessary; perform software patching and keeps systems in compliance with applicable standards as needed or required.

Qualifications and Competencies

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree AND
  • Considerable experience in Yardi business analysis, writing SQL queries, relational databases and/or client server concepts OR
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Knowledge of information system operating concepts, tools, utilities, and methods for standard software development and database design concepts, standards, and reporting.
  • Understands technical aspects of the position and continuously builds knowledge, keeping up to date on the substantive and procedural aspects of the position.
    • Ability to code, organize, and plan applications development, enhancements and maintenance projects based on Agency specifications.

  • Proficiency using large administrative databases and Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; database software; and programming languages (e.g., SQL).

  • Must possess a valid driver's license to travel between work sites as required. Must have an acceptable driving record at time of appointment and throughout employment.

Salary & Benefits:
Salary range is $78,539.00 to $113,881.00, with a midpoint of $96,210.00. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market. Salary is negotiable. A comprehensive health care benefits package for you and your dependents includes medical, dental and vision insurance, life and long-term disability insurance plans, vacation, sick and personal leave, reduced tuition, and retirement benefits are also available.

Physical Work Environment:
