Job Title: Buyer Planner
The Buyer/Planner has the primary responsibility of ensuring material availability to support production and engineering schedules. Other responsibilities include managing inventory levels as per company directives, supporting material/product level revisions, interacting/coordinating with suppliers on a variety of topics ensuring NIST compliance and supporting other business functions as required.

Material plan and place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of all MRP, MRO, calibration, production, and engineering material as required by approved Purchase Requisitions and Approved Exposure Inventory list to include all customer flow down requirements.

• Monitor status of open orders to ensure on-time delivery of all items ordered, including timely resolution, communication, and mitigation of all future problems.
• Thorough understanding of and compliance with company Purchasing Procedure.
• Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule and/or inventory changes.
• Recommend and establish optimal inventory levels based on approved exposure inventory along with production and engineering schedules based on material lead times.
• Coordinate material flows throughout production/BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials due to new product development.
• Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers.
• Responsible for putting together Costed BOM’s for company product lines when requested and works with suppliers to ensure best deliveries and best pricing.
• Knowledge of components, component obsolescence and lead time issues with reporting responsibilities to engineering department and management providing detailed information on what the issues are, how these issues impact company product and deliverables.
• Provide back-up support for supply chain functions including shipping, receiving, material handling and other duties as assigned.
• Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources and alternative supply options.
• Ensure and promote compliance to Company and Procurement policies and procedures.
• Understand and comply with all FAR, DFAR, ITAR flow down requirements.
• Understand and comply with all import/export requirements.
• Expertise and ownership of Conflict Minerals requirements and reporting.
• Expertise and ownership of Counterfeit Materials AS5553 requirements and reporting.
• Work with company’s export control employee to ensure licensing issues are addressed on a real time basis.
• Work with Accounting to resolve any issues that arise regarding supplier/consulting orders and inventory transactions.
• Monitor and document supplier scoring and work with quality to determine when a supplier is below the acceptable level set so that quality can issue the appropriate SCAR. Ensure suppliers on the Approved Vendor List (AVL) information is kept current.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
