JOB SUMMARY:

An engineering assistant provides support to the engineering team on a variety of projects. Job duties include spec reading, research, conducting tests, modifying techniques, resolving issues, creating CAD drawings, and programming CNC equipment using CAM software. Additional responsibilities as an engineering assistant are to help project engineers design, develop, evaluate, and troubleshoot to accomplish project goals.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Discuss changes in design, method of manufacture and assembly, and drafting techniques and procedures with staff and coordinate corrections.
  • Following specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings.
  • Preparing both rough sketches and detailed work with CAD systems.
  • Program CNC equipment using CAM software.
  • Communicating with engineers, and incorporating knowledge gained into drawings.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and redrafting alongside the engineering team.
  • Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team.
  • Record test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test methods.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus
  • Associates degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  • 2 plus years of experience using CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
  • 2 plus years of experience using ERP software (Epicor preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
