SUMMARY

We are hiring a CAD Specialist at our Corporate Office in Birmingham, AL! The CAD Specialist is responsible for drawing store floor plans using CAD software and designing new stores within the current Hibbett|City Gear standards and concepts. Ensures the store layout benefits the design in a timely manner. Works with business partners internally and externally to achieve business goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Draw store floorplans based upon Hibbett|City Gear specifications and in compliance to city building codes and ordinances, including fixture plans and wall and plug layouts. Update drawings and files as needed for design updates and concepts. Complete base plans for stores. Add details to drawings, as needed, to better help contractors in building the space accurately.
• Operate CADD-based software to manipulate and complete construction documents for retail environment.
• Keep informed about building codes for floorplans and drawings, including contacting local code authorities for certain building code requirements.
• Communicate with project managers throughout construction projects, emailing them floorplans and adjusting as needed based on project managers’ suggestions. As well as email completed drawings to all necessary parties, including landlords, project architects, and city code authorities. When necessary, package and send documents to landlords, contractors, and architects.
• Consult with contractors regarding new store construction.
• Execute drawings for expansion/remodels, based on survey and/or as-built information. Coordinate remodel design with improving existing store condition.
• Determine responsibility of work from lease documents and note construction documents accordingly.
• Coordinate with landlords as needed to complete floorplans and other necessary tasks for construction projects. Contact landlord representatives to obtain base plan/LOD drawings all pertinent information to complete construction documents.
• Understand and interpret commercial construction documents, notes, details, and language.
• Work with Design Analyst to space plan base drawings to incorporate Hibbett|City Gear fixture and design elements to conform to the standard proto-typical environment.
• Protect the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 6 months-1 year of experience with CAD drawings and construction
• Experience working for a retail company is preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
