Young Life in Little Rock is looking to add a part-time (with potential for full-time) Capernaum coordinator to our team. With a diverse team of seven local staff across the city, an administrator, committee and volunteers already in place, we are looking for someone to join us in doing multi-ethnic Capernaum ministry. This person will work in schools, partner with churches and continue relationships with current students and their families, as well as develop new relationships in the area to expand the ministry.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a spiritually healthy environment in which all those connected to Young Life grow in their faith.
  • Develop key adult relationships within the Little Rock community (parents, teachers, donors, committee members, etc.).
  • Team lead an existing Capernaum ministry that includes bi-monthly club and Campaigners meetings with students from different schools, including a team of adult leaders and buddies.
  • Weekly contact work at multiple schools for students with disabilities.
  • Help the area director in leader recruitment/training, local board (committee) recruitment, fundraising events, leader care and church outreach.
  • Continue to recruit and lead a team of volunteer leaders and buddies.
  • Communicate with parents and organize ministry in a way that serves and cares for families with kids with disabilities.
  • Conduct personal fundraising up to area standards and expectations as well as partnering with the committee to raise budgeted revenue.

Qualifications:

  • Has a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus.
  • Has a call to reach students with disabilities with the Gospel.
  • Has experience working with people with disabilities.
  • Has evident passion for seeing kids’ lives impacted through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Has the ability to grow and maintain a wide variety of relationships (kids, leaders, adults, etc.).
  • Is a willing fundraiser to tap into the vast financial resources of the area.
  • Is willing to commit himself or herself to intentional discipleship with Jesus and in turn recruit disciples.
  • Collaborates well with others as part of the staff team.

This position is intended for a part-time start, with opportunity to go full-time.
