Job Summary

Trains alongside Central Fill pharmacy personnel to prepare prescriptions, complete related paperwork, and order supplies and medications. Supports Central Fill operations by preparing, packaging, and shipping medications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Works with Certified Pharmacy Technicians to fill prescriptions manually or using automated equipment.
• Helps select and verify products as indicated on computer generated orders.
• Accurately labels canisters and prepacked items.
• Assists with properly packaging and shipping pharmaceuticals.
• Ensures proper inventory count of pharmaceuticals and supplies. Assists with monitoring inventory and removes expired product.
• Maintains continuous workflow to meet daily production goals.
• Unloads merchandise from truck shipments, and stocks shelves as needed.
• Maintains clean, safe and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to Company safety procedures. Complies with all governmental and Company policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Basic mathematical skills for counting purposes.
• Ability to read meters, dials, and calibrated scales.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize verbal, written, or numerical information.
• Ability to perform basic Microsoft Office functions.
• Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
• Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
• Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate (in written and verbal form) with customers, partners, doctors’ offices, and third-party insurance companies.
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity.
• Ability to remain courteous with customers at all times.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification required.
• Must be registered with the State Board and meet state technician requirements for continuing education.
