Our team is responsible for delivering Air-handling subsystems interior of the vehicle through CFD analysis for development of vehicle interior airflow systems, including ductwork, register and defroster, cowl water management and air extraction path.


The Minimum Requirement We Seek

  • BS in Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, or related engineering field with a focus on Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer and Fluid Mechanics
  • 5+ years of working with 3D CFD software such as ANSYS/Fluent, STAR-CCM+, EnSight, ANSA.
  • 2+ years of proficiency in CAD tools such as CATIA, Teamcenter
  • 5+ years of working experience in analysis of thermal and fluid analysis supporting product development.
  • 2+ years of programming experience (Java, Python, scripting)

Our Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or Ph.D in Mechanical engineering , Mechatronics or related engineering field with a focus on Thermo-fluids or heat transfer
  • Background with both experimental and computational fluid mechanics
  • Experience in Ford Product Development systems and tools
  • Experience in 3D Conjugate heat transfer modeling
  • Experience with Human Comfort modeling
  • Experience with Optimization methods
  • Experience in developing high fidelity models and conducting model correlations with testing
  • Good communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical abilities including data driven problem solving
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment, with flexibility to adjust to changing priorities

  • Opportunity to apply thermal fluid/modeling methodologies and analysis techniques to drive the design and development of Ford’s future electrified powertrains.
  • Perform 3D thermal/CFD analysis of the air-handling subsystem to drive designs that meet customer expectations
  • Work with physical testing activities to enhance model predictability, model correlation and validation
  • Interface with software vendors for new modeling methodology and development
  • Work with cross functional product development teams for both attribute and sub-system design
  • Capture lessons learned and support updates to requirements and specifications
  • Work with teams to develop new technologies related to interior airflow systems
