Overview:

Franciscan Ministries is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to add to our Home Office team in Lemont, IL! This senior leadership position is responsible for strategy and execution, as well as strategic thought partnership with the CEO and hands-on team management within the following areas: finance, accounting, planning, and budgeting.


Responsibilities:

  • Directs fiscal functions of the organization in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP) and Cost reimbursement principles relating to the Long-term care industry.
  • Able to work as a team with other executives to evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, the introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory and reimbursement changes affecting the ministry. Ability to take volumes of disparate data relating to market, reimbursement, and strategy and analyze its combined financial impact on the ministry.
  • Provides strategic leadership and financial projections in evaluating organic growth opportunities, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization through systems and controls that will improve the overall financial operations.
  • Oversees internal control monitoring activities of the ministry and ensures the appropriateness of accounting standards.
  • Monitors the status of compliance with all debt covenants under bond indentures, bank loans, and other debt instruments.
  • Develop a finance plan for operating and capital needs and specific acquisitions or renovations not contemplated in the budgeting process.
  • Develops and oversees annual operating, cash forecasting, and capital budget process.
  • Produces monthly reports with financial analysis to the operators in the field of variances to budget, opportunities for improvement, and any other financial issues impacting budgets.
  • Works with investment bankers, banking relationships, and other third-party organizations to develop an appropriate capital structure that supports the operation and growth of the organization.
  • Oversee the cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism to meet the operational needs of the ministry.
  • Provides status of the organization's financial condition and its affiliates by collecting, interpreting, and reporting key financial data every month. Prepares analytics for the finance committee of the Board every quarter. Acts as a staff member on various Board committees.
  • All other duties as assigned or as the area of responsibility indicate

Requirements:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, other applicable area of study.
  • 7-10 Years relevant experience. Preferred 10 years relevant experience as a senior executive level.
  • CPA Certification preferred
  • Skilled Nursing Facility billing experience preferred
