Child Nutrition Catering Specialist Job at Texarkana Independent School District
PRIMARY PURPOSE / FUNCTION:
Facilitate the efficient operation of the Child Nutrition administrative office and provide clerical services for the administrative staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED
Successfully completed Associate Level Culinary Arts program preferred.
Successfully completed Serve-Safe or other national safety standard testing within 6 months of hire.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Familiar with food and preparation methods.
Knows proper methods of cooking on all levels as well as baking, pastries, ect.
Self-sufficient.
Possesses time-management skills and has working knowledge of kitchen equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively (Verbal and written)
Ablility to read and perform basic arithmetic
Proficient skills and accuracy in typing, word processing, and file maintenance
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to operate computer, multi-line telephone system, and maintain accurate database information
Patient and calm demeanor with students and others
Experience:
One to three years of secretarial/clerical experience preferably in a public education environment
Experienced in all levels of cooking, banquets, and high-end cuisine in commercial kitchens.
