Position Summary

Supervises, plans, organizes and directs the recruitment and training of CHP scheduling and pre-services staff. Coordinates with Cherokee Nation regarding the processes in scheduling and pre-services to ensure timely and efficient patient through put and other duties as required.

Position Accountabilities

Maintains strict confidentiality of information, internally and externally, with a working knowledge of HIPPAA compliance.

Responds promptly to partner inquiries and requests.

Helps coordinate training of Scheduling and Pre-Registration regarding CHP procedures.

Understanding of clinical and financial process interactions. (Medical Necessity, ICD-9 Coding and CPT Coding Guidelines).

Ability to use independent judgment and reach appropriate decisions.

Understands work priorities with the ability to manage multiple tasks, control work inventories, and complete activities in an appropriate and timely manner.

Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

Ensures that CHP referral processes runs smoothly and efficiently by overseeing operations, staff and expediting solutions to problems.

Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings. Attends committee meetings as requested.

Functions as liaison between partners and hospital area support staff.

Assists with implementing processes that decrease denials and increase revenue.

Reviews documentation prior to the procedure to ensure payor specific medical necessity guidelines are met.

Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Education - High School

Minimum Experience - Excellent human relations and oral/written communication

skills; Experience in hospital/healthcare environment or management; Knowledge of health insurance

and relevant regulations. Coding and/or clinical knowledge.

Preferred Education - College degree preferred in relevant field

Preferred Experience - Certified Coder, LPN, Rad Tech or RN
