City Manager Job at City of Bridge City -
Reports to: Mayor and Council
Serves as Chief Administrator and Executive Officer of the City and is responsible to the City Council for proper administration of all affairs of the City.
- Plans, coordinates and direct the work of the City departments including City owed utilities.
- Administers and enforces all provisions of state and local laws and ordinances governing municipalities.
- Recommends legislation and policies required in the public interest.
- Attends Council meetings nd participates in the discussion of matters coming before the Council.
- Invites bids and recommends award of contract for materials, equipment and services.
- Proposes an annual budget providing for the balancing of revenues and expenditures.
- Appoints and removes subordinate employees.
- Coordinates the activities of the City government with other governmental agencies.
Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of local government administration, knowledge of management theory and practice. Ability to plan, direct and coordinate all city operations; ability to delegate responsibility for effective management; ability to maintain effective public relations; ability to establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with the CIty Council, other public officials, subordinates and community-at-large.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $113,000.00 per year
