Civil Engineering Technician Job at Spicer Group
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is for a part-time or full-time Civil Engineering Technician in our in our Manistee office. We are looking for a highly motivated individual capable of working independently with some supervision or on large project teams developing AutoCAD deliverables for civil engineering projects. You will be using design and drafting standards, reference manuals, and will prepare design documents.

A TYPICAL DAY ON THE JOB
- Performs technical drafting support for assigned projects with some supervision according to established standards and procedures
- Prepares engineering drawings from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information using CAD software programs
- Calculates quantities and cost estimates for non-routine and complex assignments
- Coordinates with outside utility companies and municipalities to gather information necessary for design
- Attends meetings with project manager and client throughout the design process
- Assists the engineer or project manager with the preparation of project specifications
- Performs project site inspection for conformance with design
- Performs Quality Assurance acceptance testing of materials on a project site (training will be provided)
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 1 to 5 years’ experience drafting using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
- 1 to 5 years’ experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS
