Position: Claims Investigator (Fluent Spanish-Speaking Preferred)

Starting Compensation: $30.00 - $35.00/hour DOE

Weekly Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Home Office Location: Sacramento, CA & Alameda, CA

Statement Work Territory: Northern California, Central Valley, Bay Area

Job Summary:

DigiStream Investigations, a fast-growing private investigations firm seeks a full-time Claims Investigator with formal Spanish-speaking ability currently residing between Sacramento and the Bay area. The Claims Investigator will conduct insurance investigations with subjects and witnesses to workers comp injury claims in Northern California, Central Valley & the Bay Area. Due to Covid-19 many claims are now done virtually as well. The Claims Investigator will be responsible for scheduling, preparing, and conducting claims investigations and communicating with the General Manager regarding results obtained and updating clients as needed.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct in-person recorded interviews with injured workers, supervisors, witnesses, and management regarding industrial accidents

- Conduct accident scene investigations including scene photographs, measurements, and analysis of equipment to determine cause of injury or third-party liability

- Obtain and secure evidence, such as audio recordings, medical releases, photographs, police reports, court records, and other evidence

- Complete well-written and in-depth reports on case findings within 48 hours of statement

- Track and maintain hourly billing

- Work under deadlines and multitask

Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree required (Criminal Justice, English, Psychology, History, Political Science or other writing intensive major preferred)

- 2 years experience in claims preferred, experience in journalism preferred

- Must be able to provide at least 1 writing sample (Cover letter does not count)

- Ability to read, analyze, and distill information from documents and forms and apply it to an investigation

- Ability to interact with subjects of an investigation in a professional manner while developing rapport and extracting necessary information

- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information

- Ability to juggle multiple cases at once; maintaining work quality and turnaround time while communicating effectively with SIU supervisor

- Must pass a mandatory Background History check

- Must be at least 21 years of age

Physical Demands:

- Sitting for long periods of time

- Driving to and from assignments

- Keyboarding

- Viewing computer monitor

- Lifting up to 25 lbs.
