Wage band range $65,000 to $82,000/annual

Starting salary is typically between $69,000 and $72,000 annual; however, it is ultimately determined by the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity. Position is eligible to test for additional bilingual pay incentive.

Position is eligible for $7,500 Sign-On Bonus!! Paid at 90-day, 6-months, and 1-year of active service.

We have an exciting opportunity to work under the direction of the Clinical Program Manager of the Non-Public School (NPS), in providing and implementing clinical therapy component of the overall treatment plan to the students we serve. Casa Pacifica’s Non-Public Special Education School (NPS) is a WASC accredited, diploma-granting institution serving children, adolescents, and transition-aged youth in grades 1 - 12 dealing with complicated issues such as: emotional disturbance, specific learning disabilities, and other health impairments.

We are a fully certified with commendations by the State Department of Education, our NPS serves children/youth ages 8 through 18 placed in the Residential Treatment Program or Assessment, Stabilization, and Permanency Center as well as day students from surrounding communities.

We provide a safe, relationship-based, therapeutic and academically enriching environment with a focus on personalized academic interventions that fill gaps in critical academic areas. In addition to clinical services, Casa Pacifica uses Collaborative Problem Solving ©, Life Space Crisis Intervention (LSCI) ©, and SAFE Environments© to build relationships and help children reach their goals. We use evidence based practices to teach skills and equip students with self-confidence, positive character traits and problem solving strategies, so that they can successfully transition to a less restrictive setting as quickly as appropriate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages cases of assigned clients within the school and carries out the mission of Casa Pacifica as it relates to ongoing clinical assessment, evaluation, and progress of the youth within Casa Pacifica.
  • Ongoing assessment of clinical needs of youth on caseload including, developing and updating treatment plans, making referrals to needed resources, and creating a discharge plan.
  • Provides clinical services such as individual, collateral, rehabilitation, parenting skills training, and case management as appropriate to the individual needs of the youth.
  • Works collaboratively with the Admissions team to coordinate the admissions/intake process and ensure timely completion of required intake documents, including consents, risk screeners, and clinical assessments.
  • Although typically completed by the Assessment Clinician in the NPS, on occasion, the NPS Clinician will be required to assesses the clinical needs of the youth admitting to the school, including conducting a risk screener, safety plan, preliminary treatment plan, and a comprehensive client assessment for assigned clients.
  • Utilizes evidenced-based practices that are appropriate to meet the clinical needs of the youth and family.
  • Acts as liaison with placement agencies and community services and works closely with mental health and child protective services, as well as law enforcement agencies, schools, employers, health and welfare, and recreation agencies to provide coordinated care.
  • Confers with the Sr. Director of Education/teaching staff regarding youth's behavioral or learning needs and recommends methods of modifying inappropriate behavior and encouraging learning experiences.
  • Confers with parents regarding school and facility activities, policies, and procedures as needed and appropriate.
  • Responsible for maintaining an organized and up-to-date clinical chart according to DMH guidelines. Prepares regular progress reports on each client; prepares additional correspondence related to caseload as required. Documents progress notes on electronic health records.
  • Participates in IEPs for their clients, sharing progress on social-emotional goals and advocating for their client’s clinical needs.
  • Aids authorities to plan for the discharge arrangements of the child.
  • Utilizes community resources in providing services for youth.
  • Assists youth transitioning into the community and links them to appropriate community resources, including referrals for transition-aged youth to Transitional Youth Services programs, substance abuse programs, Wraparound, and Therapeutic Behavior Services, when appropriate.
  • Assists in program development and staff training to ensure the milieu is therapeutic.
  • Attends outside training events and conferences as requested.
  • Maintains compliance with all local, County, State, and Federal government regulations, including Title 22, and Division 6, and prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Licensed Master's supervisor professional experience with three to five years experience working with severely emotionally disturbed youth. 0-3 post licensed master level

CREDENTIALS: LPCC, LCSW, or LMFT with California license
