Position:

TF CNC Operator 2 (5 axis)

Summary/Objective:

The TF CNC Operator 2 is capable of operating all of DALB’s CNC 5 axis machines to produce machined parts that meet specific drawing and quality requirements. This position’s is generally stationed at a primary machine, but can operate all CNC equipment to meet production requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Full ability to operate all 5 Axis cutting equipment.
  • Read and analyze engineering drawings.
  • Perform in line assembly and packaging.
  • Safely performs all fabrication and finishing steps efficiently.
  • Capable to execute all CNC equipment workflow processes.
  • Certified forklift operator
  • Perform proper calibration procedures as needed
  • Read and understand manufacturing orders and the Sage schedule.
  • Ability to suggest methods to reduce setup time and machining through process improvements
  • Understands, interprets and edits G-code Programming
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are in good working order and are free of safety hazards.
  • Regular attendance and the ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Communicates safety and maintenance issues to supervisor
  • Document daily scrap.
  • Label parts and accurately perform traceability and backflush processes.
  • Examine parts for defects and measure parts to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Assist in maintaining tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
  • Fill in for other operators during breaks, absences, etc.
  • Any additional duties as assigned

Core Competency Requirements

Knowledge and expertise in:

  • Knowledge of Thermoforming fabrication steps
  • Routing and machinery.

Required Skills

  • Technically capable and mechanically inclined
  • 5 axis CNC equipment experience
  • Auto, semi auto, manual equipment operation
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Ability to read a Tape measure
  • Ability to read and understand calipers
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and recommunicate
  • Ability to accurately operate a calculator.
  • Must be able to use a computer
  • Must be able to read and understand drawings
  • Good time management
  • Ability to follow, understand and execute direction as given to you by your Supervisor.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-Starter
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team.
  • Must be capable of regularly lifting up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lifting up to 80 lbs. assisted.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or Equivalent

1 year previous experience in manufacturing

Work Environment

This job operates in a production environment. This role is sitting, standing, moving, bending, walking, reaching, lifting, squatting, pushing, pulling and turning.
