Summary
As the Commercial Counsel you will be responsible for reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts of varying types and complexity levels. Our Legal team is lean and you will immediately have the opportunity to step in, own projects, and become a critical member of our team. You will be a strategic advisor to the business team and bring a business-oriented, practical mindset to solving problems and closing transactions.
What You'll Do
- Draft, negotiate, and advise cross-functional teams on a wide variety of agreements, including new business development initiatives, software licenses, data agreements, partnership agreements, site contracts and vendor agreements.
- Provide thoughtful and practical product, business, and legal counselling on various legal risks, business strategies, and other issues related to product features, commercial transactions, and general operations.
- Manage and resolve complicated issues related to commercial deals, and drive alignment with various cross-functional teams.
- Own the entire contracting cycle from initial draft to execution and collaborate with business and product teams to drive contract negotiations to timely and successful completion.
- Build, streamline, and operationalize the company’s contracting process to help us scale as a legal team and as a company.
- Work with business leaders and other departments and stakeholders on a broad range of complex legal, business and strategic issues as they arise.
- Assist with legal vetting of new product lines and features prior to commercialization
- Perform other duties as assigned
Your Education and Experience
J.D., with strong academic credentials and membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar. Minimum of 3-6 years of commercial or corporate experience in-house or at a law firm. Experience managing commercial deals for a life science, real-world evidence or health tech company preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Total Rewards
The salary range estimated for this position is $124,000 - $144,000 per year. This position is also eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company performance results. Compensation will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
