Commercial Credit Analyst reviews credit data to evaluate commercial loan requests and participates in underwriting decisions of loan applications. This individual analyzes sources of financial information, such as financial statements, tax returns, credit bureau reports and cash flow statements to determine the estimated level of risk of a loan. The Commercial Credit Analyst prepares reports in response to new and additional credit proposals for lenders and loan committees. This individual will report to the Board of Directors and the Head of Credit Administration.

Responsibilities:

• Utilization of loan accounting system to research loan activity -
• Use analytical abilities and established guidelines to spread and translate basic financial reporting of business entities and individuals into bank standard format for further analysis -
• Accurately interpret credit background information from Equifax, Experian and Transunion -
• Clearly and concisely communicate the areas of concern or weakness in a credit request –
• Participate, as an advisor and interpreter of their analysis, in Loan Committee discussions as needed -

• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year university or college is preferred or equivalent combination of experience and training. Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Ability to understand basic loan documentation, including notes, business loan agreements, security agreements and title documents.
• Ability to understand and dissect financial documentation, including financial statements, tax returns and credit reports.
• Understanding and application of basic accounting principles.
• Team contributor as evidenced by positive attitude toward assisting others with job responsibilities and treatment of co-workers in a positive and respectful manner.
• Present a positive and professional appearance and demeanor to both internal and external contacts, including other bank employees and service providers.
• The ability to communicate, both written and oral - at an effective level - is required.
• A self-starter, demonstrating the ability to work independently.
• Basic understanding and use of computer software, such as Excel, Word and E-mail is a prerequisite.
