POSITION SUMMARY: The Concurrent Review Coordinator is a vital member of the System of Care. The
The Concurrent Review Coordinator is responsible for completing concurrent reviews to ensure the
the utilization review team has accurate information to ensure clients are receiving max capacity at each
medically indicated level of care.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this position. The position may require
other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change
from time to time.

  • Completes chart reviews to retrieve required clinical and medical documentation
  • Completes ASAM dimensional updates 1-6 for all authorization needs of assigned locations
  • Communicates center documentation improvement needs to the Director of Utilization Review
  • Documents information as indicated in the electronic health record
  • Manages spreadsheets and reports to ensure tasks are completed on time
  • Participates in mandatory meetings and training
  • Maintains accurate records of completed concurrent reviews
  • Covers non-assigned centers to help with time off coverage needs
  • Attend treatment team as needed to ensure all elements are being reviewed
  • Participate in staff and state regulatory training as required
  • Adhere to program policies and procedures while maintaining a professional code of ethics
  • The Concurrent Review Coordinator is expected to protect the privacy of all persons served/client information in accordance with Addiction Recovery Care, LLC/ Odyssey, Inc.’s privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with the general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION:

  • RN or LPN
  • LCSW, LPCC, LCADC, LMFT
  • 1 year of substance use or behavioral health experience required


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of basic infection prevention strategies and precautions.
  • Knowledge of the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual impact of alcohol and other substances on the individual and family.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and organization is a must.
  • Ability to prioritize work- and work-related responsibilities.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle crisis situations in a calm and supportive manner.
  • Ability to exhibit professional and courteous behavior, consistent with the ARC mission statement, when interacting with persons of varying backgrounds and education levels to create a safe and therapeutic relationship with clients served

WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT AND ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to read detailed health records
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other equipment in the office
  • Must have sufficient mobility to move around the office and the community
