POSITION OVERVIEW: Construction Manager
Reporting to Adam Dolen - Operations, the role of the Construction Manager, is to contribute to the growth and development of this organization's business through the evolution of a world-class construction management practices. The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing projects in the Dallas, North Austin, Oklahoma, and Arkansas markets.

TEAL currently employees 60+ people located in the Houston headquarters, Dallas, Austin, Denver, Atlanta, and Bentonville. The non-union work force is made up of both hourly and salaried employees. TEAL has embarked on an aggressive growth strategy since January, 2020, that has led to a 400% increase in the new project bookings rate and a more than doubling of the work force. The company currently has over $40 million of assets under management that generate over $8 million of EBITDA annually. TEAL has current relationships with Employer Flexible as a PEO that provides benefits and payroll, John Hancock for the 401(k) plan, and Achilles as outsourced human resources leadership. The company plans to transition away from the PEO and outsourced model to an in-house human resource function.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Construction Manager will be responsible for the following:
    • Preform onsite plan reviews for projects to make sure that the entire hot water system is per the construction documents and Teals best practices.
    • Perform routine inspection of the hot water distribution system during construction process.
    • Identify and resolve situations regarding distribution piping with the installing contractors.
    • Review, design and report any issue with the installation, workmanship, or deviation for the construction documents.
    • Coordinate delivery of the Teal system with the general contractor
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have earned a high school diploma, GED, or higher education.
The construction manager should be a licensed plumber (Journeyman/master) preferred.
The candidate should be very energetic, results-oriented, highly intelligent, growth-oriented, and have strong analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. He/she must have an in-depth understanding of the new multifamily construction process. Further, this individual should be an enthusiastic, hands-on team player who demonstrates a high degree of entrepreneurialism and flourishes in an environment of personal accountability.
The Construction Manager should be a self-starter who possesses maturity and sound construction management skills. He/she will have the capability to establish credibility as construction manager, strategic thinker, and pragmatic doer. This successful individual will be a disciplined, organized professional who possesses good oral and written communication skills. The selected candidate’s personal style will allow for effective interaction with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization and will be one who promotes all Teal values.
In summary, the Construction Manager must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and documents, have a good understanding of circulation hot water distribution systems, and a willingness to travel if required. The successful individual must clearly be able to add value to the organization through his/her knowledge of the construction process and provide expertise to the organization and its culture.
