Project Manager – Concrete / Site Work

Nicholson Corporation is currently seeking an experienced, success oriented, self-motivated Concrete / Site Work Project Manager with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, to join our growing team.

Nicholson is a diversified and growing company with focus on a broad spectrum of project types within the Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Aviation & Manufacturing sectors. Typically, Nicholson self-performs a large percentage of the work, so effective project management is crucial to our success. The ability to accurately manage and execute multiple heavy civil construction projects has brought us a great deal of success. We are looking for the right candidate to continue that success.

The qualified candidate shall be well versed in excavation, support of excavation, utility work, heavy concrete foundations, demolition work, site concrete, masonry, and paving. The Project Manager will be responsible for monitoring and delivering a financially successful project.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

· Maintains communication with personnel, sub-contractors and vendors as needed.

· Review job cost with the project estimator and division director.

· Highlight any subs/material vendors that still need to be awarded.

· Maintain operations calendar.

· Price change requests. (RFC, COR, etc.)

· Review & approve project weekly timesheets for payroll submission.

· Securing material & rental equipment quotes as needed through current vendors.

· Coordinate with Warehouse Manager the delivery or pick up of purchased material or rented equipment with vendors and Nicholson employees.

· Ensure JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) and Excavation Permits are in place prior to start of work.

· Ensure NJ One Call utility mark-out requests are being done prior to start of new projects.

· Assist in Identifying & problem solve any manpower/ machinery issues during operations

· Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with scope and safety requirements

· Attend weekly onsite project meetings as needed

· Attend new work scope review meetings as needed

Qualifications:

· Must have a complete understanding of Heavy Civil Construction

· Minimum 5 years’ current experience with a commercial contractor, preferable with Sitework/Concrete/Masonry/Paving experience

· In depth knowledge of construction methods and means and equipment utilization.

· Strong work ethic, detail oriented, organized, professional and reliable

· Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

· Familiarity with AutoDesk Build, PlanGrid, or similar Cloud Construction Management software preferred

· Ability to perform an accurate take-off using a digital platform such as OST a plus

· Foundation or SAGE 300 CRE experience a plus

· Strong Excel, Word, Adobe, Email and other relevant computer skills

· Must be able to run multiple projects at once

Education:

BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar is required.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
