Construction Project Superintendent

The Position:

We have an immediate, full‐time opening for a Project Superintendent to join our team of professionals.

Friede & Associates is a fourth‐generation construction company that traces its beginning to the early 1900s. With both carpentry and concrete crews still a part of our business, our 45‐ person firm has completed projects in nearly every industry, and with virtually every type of construction, including tilt‐up, structural steel, pre‐engineered steel, panelization and wood construction. But today our firm is best known for its work from The Wisconsin Dells/Lake

Delton area south to Madison and beyond.

Responsibilities:

The Project Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all of the activities of a construction site according to project drawings and schedules. Duties include coordinating subcontractors, performing quality control and safety checks, and providing on‐site direction.

The ideal candidate will complete organizational and project‐related responsibilities to effectively lead the construction team and ensure they have all the resources they need. The

Project Superintendent is responsible for use of company vehicle, tools, and maintenance of these. Also, they are responsible for manpower schedules.

• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Ensure positive customer relations and satisfaction
• Develops detailed schedules for completion
• Complete projects within established budgets
• Coordination with subcontractors
• Monitor quality and safety and enforcement of job safety at all times.
• Resolve issues in a timely manner

• Exceptional communication skills (written/oral)
• Extremely organized with ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
• Must work efficiently under minimal supervision
• Must be a detail‐oriented and conscientious individual

Necessary Education & Experience Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 10 years or more of construction field experience
• Five years or more of direct supervisory experience related to subcontractor management
• Previous or current commercial construction experience in a Superintendent role required
• Proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, the internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook) * Ability to read plans and specs
