The Controller will manage the Accounting staff and have primary day-to-day responsibilities for planning, implementing, managing and controlling financial-related activities for MOSAIC. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, job costing, and data analysis.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain accounting systems, procedures, controls and reports necessary for recording financial transactions, control of assets, and financial information
• Manage, coach, and evaluate the accounting staff
• Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger and Billing
• Supervise the preparation of monthly financial statements as well as the following reports: Sales, cash, receipts, disbursements reports, accounts payable and accounts receivable, fixed asset changes
• Produce and analyze a multitude of data analytics reports and make recommendations based on these reports
• Create and maintain annual budgets and KPIs
• Improve and monitor billing procedures
• Work with operations to improve and monitor job costing
• Approve all disbursements
• Supervise record keeping regarding cash receipt journal, receipts against billing reconciliation and bank deposits
• Oversee the preparation of the Sales and Use tax reports
• Work with external accountants on annual audits and tax returns
• Control credit limits to customers and supervise collection of past due accounts
• Oversee sales commission program and payouts

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
• At least five (5) years of accounting experience in public accounting and/or corporate accounting
• Experience in manufacturing and/or work in process preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to lead, educate, coach and manage the Accounting team
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
• Experience with budget creation
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation; must be a self-starter
• PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment) and strong working knowledge of Excel and financial management software
