National Property Management is looking for a seasoned Controller to join our team! We are a locally owned and operated residential property management company with multi-state operations and are growing. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a fast paced team environment and be willing to embrace the following responsibilities:

Position Summary

Reports directly to CFO and would have the day to day oversight function of the Accounts Payable & Cash Management Department. Candidate would work hand-in-hand with the accounting department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Report directly to CFO
  • Solid background in financial reporting and analysis, including annual budget preparation and analysis.
  • Maintain Escrow/Operating balance spreadsheets for Month End Reporting, misc. monthly activity
  • Provide Month End Balances to CFO, President, and Accounting
  • Handle bank transactions - wires, deposits, transfers (operating, consolidated, and escrow accounts), stop payments, inquiries, troubleshooting errors and entry explanations
  • Issue checks for monthly recurring payables, month-end clean-up, any and all variety of other requests/distributions
  • Notify CFO of balance issues, taxes, and other significant payouts to determine cash requirements
  • Provide account analyses for month-end projections
  • Oversee day to day functions of AP by providing guidance and support.
  • Enter Budgets
  • Prioritize and perform any and all duties in a well organized manner
  • Assist/ Lead Projects assigned by CFO

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) *

  • Oversees the AP function and cash management department
  • Minimum of 5 years experience along with a proven record of development in accounting and banking. Bachelors degree in accounting preferred
  • Must have prior managerial experience including direct reports
  • Solid background in financial reporting and analysis, including annual budget preparation and analysis.
  • Individual should possess, strong organizational and communication skills, be goal-driven to achieve annual departmental initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership skills & capacity to oversee day to day operations.
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills, with the ability to adhere to deadlines and timetables.
  • Computer proficiency including a strong background in Microsoft Excel and other accounting/IT systems, - MRI a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, Self-motivated and goal-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task is a must

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
