We’re Raise Recruiting an Ian Martin Company, and we’ve partnered with our client, an engineered solutions & custom machine supplier with over 40 years of experience delighting customers. They supply systems featuring Finishing Systems, Pick & Place Robotics, Depalletizers, Palletizers, Labeling, Pallet & Slipsheet Handling, Case & Carton Handling, Conveyors and Sortation Systems.

As the newest Controls Engineer, you’ll provide control solutions for machine systems developed to solve customers’ challenges/problems. You’ll tap into your analytical/critical thinking skills when applying robust methodologies and sound engineering principles to develop and realize solutions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for preparing the following for engineering:
  • System design
  • PLC
  • HMI programming
  • Control panel design and detail
  • Hardware selection
  • Bill of materials creation
  • Responsible for system I/O check, debugging, and Startup
  • Responsible for leading and participating in problem-solving activities
  • Interact with other departments, suppliers, and customers to obtain pertinent information
  • Work closely with the senior mechanical setup technician to ensure that the machine functionality is complete and approved, before shipping
  • Coordinate all associated documentation and files for each project
  • Review project quotes and scope
  • Perform sales and engineering visits when required
  • Create costing estimate spreadsheets when required to assist sales
  • Review engineering to make certain company and customer machine expectations are met

Working with our client:

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Toledo Ohio. There is a need for approximately 25% travel, for both domestic and international (Canadian) projects. They offer a competitive annual salary, commensurate with experience, benefits, 401K matching plan and vacation.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • 3 – 5 years of applicable experience within the automation sector
  • Experience with Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Allen Bradley Controllogix, and Allen Bradley Panel View software
  • Experience with control panels, HMI screens, HMI programs, PLC programs, and Project files
  • Familiarity with commercial and industrial control systems
  • Understanding of product development
  • Willing and able to travel to customer locations, with some international travel to Canada
