Controls Technician

Location: Savannah, GA

Pay: $32.05-$37.75/hr

Requirements and Qualifications: Controls Technician

• Must be fully competent on PLC programming and troubleshooting with multi-craft skills in the Industrial maintenance field.
• Advanced degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent required.
• 2-4 years of direct electrical experience in a manufacturing environment
• Prior industrial maintenance experience in the Corrugated industry is highly preferred.
• Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
• Must have or obtain certificate of training in RS Logix 5000 software
• Must have the ability to write, troubleshoot and repair PLC programs.
• Demonstrate the ability to design, develop and execute an electrical or electronic project.

Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: Controls Technician

• Follow all plant safety rules and work in a safe manner
• Troubleshoot network issues
• Responsible for maintaining back-up program files for all PLC programs on site
• The Controls Technician will be required to attend vendor sponsored training to remain current on new technology as needed.
• Assist with electrical/electronic repairs as needed:
• Diagnose and repair/replace faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards
• Replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices such as proximity switch timers, scanners and photoelectric devices
• Troubleshoot drives, i.e. AC and DC

Applicants must successfully complete electrical qualification tests, physical and drug screen, employment verification, and criminal background check.
