Working under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Strategic Partnerships, the Coordinator - Access & Events is responsible for promoting and increasing underserved student participation. To accomplish this task, the Coordinator - Access & Events will build relationships with high schools within our service area and various university departments to seek out collaboration efforts - these departments include, but are not limited to: TRIO, GEARUP, Admissions, and Multicultural Student Services. The Coordinator - Access & Events, in partnership with the Concurrent Enrollment Advising team, will be responsible for attending events and giving presentations. This position will use data to guide their efforts to identify and increase underserved student participation.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • (40%) The Coordinator -Access & Events will plan and attend various recruiting events at the high schools (some evening work required). These events focus on general promotion of the program as well as assisting with college admission and registration processes. Assists with various concurrent enrollment events on and off campus.
  • (30%) The Coordinator - Access & Events will create and deliver targeted presentations for underserved students by collaborating with the Concurrent Enrollment Public Relations team.
  • (10%) The Coordinator - Access & Events will work collaboratively with the Concurrent Enrollment Advising and Public Relations teams to promote program access to underserved students.
  • (10%) The Coordinator - Access & Events will work with the department data analyst to obtain and analyze student trends to strategically increase underserved program participation.
  • (10%) The Coordinator - Access & Events collaborate with TRIO, GEARUP, Admissions, and MSS to ensure underserved students have additional campus resources available. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate's degree with two years of experience in youth programs or event management OR a combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling four years.

  • Knowledge of the Concurrent Enrollment program
  • Knowledge of college admissions and registration processes
  • Knowledge of college recruitment Knowledge of event planning specific to underserved populations
  • Knowledge of diverse population student success strategies
  • Knowledge and experience building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Skills in navigation of Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams)
  • Skills in public speaking
  • Skills in tracking and reporting data
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations
  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-range goals
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-focused organization
  • Must work evenings and weekends as required.
