This position will focus 50% on READ Act assessment coordination/compliance and 50% on general state and district assessment coordination.

**Annual salary noted above is based on an 8 hour day and full days worked calendar. Any position that is less than a full FTE/8 hours per day or late start will be prorated accordingly.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT


The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.

RESPONSIBILITIES


SUMMARY Support the development and implementation of procedures, communications, documentation, and training for all required District and State assessments. Train school personnel on the administration of district and state tests. Communicate with various stakeholders on a regular basis. Collaborate as needed with district departments and the Colorado Department of Education.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Support the District Assessment Team in State and District assessment training, administration, and data collection.

Coordinate effective communication with School Assessment Coordinators (SACs) and other school-based staff to support assessment administration.

Design and implement training for school personnel to administer State and District assessments in accordance with established rules, regulations, and procedures. Prepare and deliver assessment in-services to K-12 schools, staff, and teacher groups.

Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with administrators and teachers in large and small group settings. Manage challenging conversations effectively and take appropriate ownership in developing possible solutions for issues regarding assessment administration.

Provide guidance throughout the testing process, including responding to potential misadministration. Observe, monitor, and audit assessment administration procedures to ensure fidelity in schools.

Support online administration of assessments. Collaborate with Information Technology staff in developing related systems.

Collaborate with departments supporting special populations (e.g., Special Education, ESL/Dual Language, Gifted and Talented) on related assessment needs. Consult with district content area specialists regarding assessment procedures and data access.

Support the Instructional Data Services Department with general office, data, research, and assessment activities as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE 3-5 years demonstrating success in a high-demand, service oriented office environment. Five years of school district experience or equivalent preferred. Strong communication skills including experience presenting to and working with adults and facilitating group learning. Experience managing several complex projects simultaneously. Experience administering and/or interpreting Jeffco and/or state assessments preferred.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree and teaching experience across levels (elementary and secondary) preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS Colorado Teaching or Principal's license preferred. Colorado driver's license and proof of auto insurance required.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EQUIPMENT Requires excellent oral and written communication; highly developed organizational skills; interpersonal phone etiquette; advanced computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and Google applications. Experience with webinar tools (e.g. AdobeConnect and Camtasia). Knowledge of Infinite Campus and Jeffco SOARS preferred.

DECISION MAKING Requires independent judgment to support the management of assessment processes within specified timelines/deadlines. Work is guided by District policies, department procedures, and State or Federal laws. Work typically involves collaboration with departmental staff, schools, Colorado Department of Education, and other State agencies. Errors in independent judgment could lead to loss of confidence in or impact the image of the District or division and impact school and District accreditation by the Colorado Department of Education. Supervisor or project manager is involved in decisions.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS Daily contact with persons within/outside the department/building, other school districts, the Colorado Department of Education, vendors or suppliers, applicants, and the general public to maintain relationships. Contacts are regarding routine matters involving problems and confidential information or data under the direction of Assessment & Research/Instructional Data Services.

EDUCATIONAL DELIVERY Provide schools and departments with documentation and training to support administration of state and district assessments. Ensure that schools correctly adhere to rules, regulations, and procedures for administrating assessments. The majority of time is not spent at the school site, however regular phone, email and online contact with educators is expected.

COMPLEXITY OF WORK Position will cross over the District regarding pertinent information relating to Instructional Data Services. It will require tact and diplomacy to maintain relationships, resolve problems, and negotiate matters often involving high confidentiality in a timely manner. Work requires some cross training in operational procedures or fundamental technical applications.
