The Voorhees University invites applications for a staff position in the division of Student Affairs as Coordinator of Engagement Initiatives and Student Leadership Development.

Position: Coordinator of Engagement Initiatives and Student Leadership Development

Department/Division: Student Affairs

Salary: $32,000 - $35,000

FLSA Classification: Hourly, Non-exempt

Position Type/Duration: Full Time/12 months

Position Schedule: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (some extended hours may be required)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Under general supervision, administers and supervises all aspects of engagement initiatives throughout the day, nights, and weekends as needed. Reports to the Director of Student Engagement and Leadership or designee.

· Plans student leadership development activities and workshops

· Assist with programming of activities and workshops

· Assist in planning and executing innovative leadership training for student leaders, student organizations, and organizational advisors.

· Assess the needs of students and design programs based on those assessments that will result in the growth and development.

· Engage the student leaders through social media, programming, and structuring of assessment tools and technology for enhancement of services

· Assists in the coordination and supervision of activities sponsored by student organizations and ensures that accurate fiscal accounting and reporting is carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures.

· Assist in administering and supervising the program for processing student and employee identification cards.

· Assist with the direction and supervision of the activities of the Student Government Association.

· As with the general supervision of the student center/recreational locations and with regards to its personnel, programs, equipment, furniture, supplies, maintenance and budget.

· Monitor and update student activities and related social media sites to ensure they are current and accurate.

· Weekday evenings and weekends are required where applicable and varies

· Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

EDUCATION

· A Bachelor’s degree in student personnel services, guidance and counseling, psychology, or other related field and/or two (2) years of successful professional experience in college student personnel services or other related work.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Ability to administer and supervise a college program of student activities.

· Ability to work cooperatively with student organizations and with their faculty advisors.

· Ability to interpret the student activities program to all of the university’s constituents.

· Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
