Summary: Material Coordinator will lead picking of cases, maintaining OR supply stock levels, scan items of replenishment, manage OR carts and storerooms, requisition/purchasing, and expediting of products. Maintains stock levels in the surgical/operating room or other category/department as assigned in the hospital; based on anticipation of supplies, scheduled case load, or PAR requirements.

Assists buying as needed to expedite surgical orders with suppliers. Process purchase orders to support needs of physicians or clinical staff to ensure on hand supplies as needed. Reviews cycle counts and out of stocks as needed.

This position will report to the Director of Supply Chain with indirect reporting structure to the Supply Chain Manager and Lead Senior Buyer in supply chain organization. This position will also work daily with the OR director(s), doctors/surgeons, and OR staff to ensure the supplies are onsite to support the surgical cases at OLF.

Education/Experience: 1-4 years’ experience as a buyer in healthcare/or relative supply chain experience/ and or relevant 4-year college business degree.

Skills and Abilities:

• Familiar with acceptable supply chain and buying procedures.
• Intermediary excel, Microsoft office, and system skills.
• Knowledge and ability of Meditech or equivalent buying system.
• Good communication and analytical skills required.
• Maintains information confidential (HIPAA)
• Demonstrated customer service skills
• Ability to work cooperatively with peers and other disciplines
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with peers and other interdisciplinary teams.
• Minimal supervisions with motivation and self-direction to attain daily and annual tactical and strategic goals.
