DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Commissary Clerk you will provide each inmate the opportunity to receive commissary on a weekly/biweekly basis. It is the job of the commissary clerk to make sure that each inmate account is charged accurately and appropriately. This position requires strong organizational skills and will help with the task of daily/monthly physical inventories and protecting the assets of the commissary as well as helping to maintain a safe, stable and secure atmosphere within the institution.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Full-time employment (40-hour work week).
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please Note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $37,597.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of storekeeping experience in a storeroom, warehouse or retail sales store; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirement:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
