Kros-Wise is looking for a Level 2 Corrosion Assessor to support Code 242 at the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center. Code 242 is responsible for support of recurring assessments of coating systems on ship's structure, ship's structure, and Passive Countermeasure System (PCMS) assessments.

The candidate must provide engineering and technical support for the following tasks:
  • G1N5/G1N6/G1E8 inspections
  • CG Superstructures inspections
  • CG FWD and AFT VLS Topside inspections
  • CG Intake/Uptake inspections
  • DDG Bow Structures inspections (A5A1)
  • DDG Stanchion inspections
  • DDG Flight Deck Crack inspections
  • Rast Track Trough inspections (T4U3)
  • CVN Corrosion/Structural inspections
  • LCS-2V Crack inspections
  • Contractor shall verify tanks, voids, and spaces are gas free and tagged out for entry prior to entering tank/space for assessment. Conduct their own gas free and maintain their own gas free certifications through the performance period
  • Document all discrepancies by photographing with government authorized and company furnished equipment in accordance with
command/ship photographic and security requirements. Upload photographs into CCIMS using the CCIMS upload utility.
  • Enter assessment results in CADET and internal SWRMC Department tracking spreadsheets/matrices.
  • Document and evaluate coating discrepancies in accordance with CCAMM and structural discrepancies in accordance with NSTM
Chapter 100.
- Provide certified personnel to perform NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) in accordance with NAVSEA Technical Publication T9074-
AS-GIB-010/271 and NSTM 100, 100-2.5.7. Utilize GFE UT equipment on hull structural elements, per UT inspection procedures in accordance
with NAVSEA T9074-AS-GIB-010/271, Paragraph (6) and MIL-STD-1689A (SH), Paragraph (6.7) and (6.8), by a certified UT inspector per
MIL-STD-1689A (SH), Paragraph (4).
  • Provide certified personnel to perform Structural Calculation and FEA analysis in accordance with NSTM 100, 100-2.5.6.2 &
100-2.5.6.3
  • Assess PCMS components/systems in accordance with 18M-R, S-1, A-1 and A-2 PCMS inspections.
  • Conduct training and hands on demonstration on PCMS components/systems to ship's force.
  • Attend Level 2 PCMS certification Conferences (2 conferences per year) per Level 2 re-certification requirement
  • Provide repair oversight and installation guidance of Motion Measurement System (MMS) and Permanent Motion Measurement System
(PMMS) per NAVSEA/Ship's requests.

Requirements

REQUIRED TRAINING, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Contractor personnel assigned to execute tasks on above tasks
must complete the following training or certifications within on-hundred eighty (180) calendar days of providing direct support:
- S-CAT - Shipboard Corrosion Assessment Training by NACE
  • Basic UT Measurement Certification per NSTM 100, 100-2.5
  • UT Level I WorldSpec NDT Training (A Division of Hellier NDT)
  • Level 1 Corrosion Certification per CCAMM, Section 2, 2.2.1 and NSTM 100, 100-2.5
  • Level 2 Structural Certification per SWRMC Code 242 Personnel Qualification Standard (PQS)
- SYCP - Ship Yard Competent Person Training
  • NACE Level 1 Coating Training
  • NACE Cathodic Protection (CP1) Training
  • NBPI Coating Training
  • Fall Protection Hands-On and Practical Demonstrations Training
  • Surface Ship Structural Calculation & Ship Structure Design Training (Edward Davis, NSWCCD Code 654)
  • PCMS Level 1 Maintainer and Level 2 Supervisor Certification per NAVSEA RMC CERT 05P1-17
