Our Marketing team at SPS Commerce is growing yet again! We are looking to add a Customer Insights Analyst role to our team. This role will be responsible for gathering data to help us better understand our customers’ needs and perceptions, our brand presence and the competitive market at large to strengthen SPS brand awareness and further our leadership position. You will be focused on implementing, managing and operationalizing listening and insights tools to produce information that will guide our Product Marketing efforts. These tools will be used to learn more about how SPS shows up in the market generally and as compared to competitors, as a way to vet new concepts including messaging and design, and to periodically engage with customers to learn more on a specific topic or area. Finally, this role will be tasked with creating a process for sharing the insights across the organization where applicable to ensure all areas are benefiting from the information.

Day to Day
  • Develop a plan to leverage and operationalize the use of tools and sharing of insights across teams throughout the organization
  • Partner closely with Product Marketing, Marketing, Product and Business Development to determine needs as it relates to plan
  • Utilize tools to track and measure competitive, brand and customer insights
  • Set up and manage a customer look-a-like panel that will allow us to quickly assess messaging, design concepts, product concepts, and other related elements
  • Manage research projects where applicable to identify customer preferences, needs, and attitudes about products, services and related messaging
  • Drive analysis of data to identify patterns in customer behavior or preferences and develop recommendations and/or identify opportunities
  • Present findings in a clear and compelling way
  • Connect with other areas of the organization gathering customer sentiment that could be combined with the tools mentioned here to add further context to customer preferences
  • Keep track of and report customer trends as they change over time
  • Identify opportunities to connect insights to current customer data
  • Track and manage the utilization of the information to derive expected value out of the information provided

What Skills and Experience do I need:
  • 3 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 1 year and a Master’s degree
  • 3 years of experience in marketing or market research/insights with a strong affinity to data analytics
  • Experience managing and operationalizing tools
  • Ability to instruct and guide resources to interpret data, draw conclusions and structure analysis accurately and effectively to drive decision making
  • Ability to present findings in a clear and compelling way
  • Strong collaborator but also able to work independently
  • Ability to quickly learn tools, drive implementation and operationalization of those tools
Preferred Experience
  • This role is based in Minneapolis, MN. This is a hybrid role where you will be coming to the office 1x a week.
  • 5 years of experience in a Customer Insights role
  • Data analytics experience and expertise
  • Experience with listening and research tools including Crayon and Qualtrics.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI
