Position Responsibilities

· Lead and execute action plans to improve, mitigate, contain, or eliminate any existing customs risks or contingencies

· Approach in the implementation of regional trade practice needed to execute the global trade compliance strategy

· Monitor and manage US customs while minimizing overall risks and costs related to import and export regulations, tariff numbers, tooling/supplier assists, and similar regulations

· Conduct periodic compliance assessments to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and compliance of all activities and transactions with the appropriate import/export laws and recordkeeping.

· Work closely and maintain an effective communication with the FTA responsible to ensure the appliance of the Certificate of Origin in the operation and avoid duties

· Responsible for developing and implementing work instructions, processes, procedures and policies needed to enhance the customs operation

· Maintain expertise in trade-related regulations and trends through ongoing education and participation in relevant governmental and trade association meetings

· Interface and maintain relationships with US and Governing agencies (C-TPAT, US Customs and Border Protection, Regulatory Audit, etc)

· Respond to inquiries from CBP, Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders regarding HTS and Schedule B classification, ECCN classifications, documentation requirements, or other import and export regulations to ensure timely clearance. CF28 and CF29

· Review and look for opportunities in the US Customs and Border Protection Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program and Importer Self-Assessment Program (ISA) as well as other trust trade programs

· Conduct training as necessary to ensure organizational understanding of policies, procedures and regulatory requirements for Customs and Trade Compliance

· Other activities: Broker referrals (Entry instructions), Brokerage invoice approval/payment issues, perform post entry audits – monthly and Denied Party Screening process,

· Provides support to all activities assigned by the direct supervisor

· Assist in Daily processing

Position Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain/Operations Management

· Minimum 5 years work experience in customs and trade; experience in materials management preferred

· License customs broker certification preferred; foreign trade zone knowledge/certification
