Position Overview:

The Single Family CFO Front-end Financial Planning and Analysis team is within the SF CFO organization covering Sourcing, Pricing and Credit Risk Transfer business lines regarding forecasting, performance metrics, target setting, financial result measurements, financial analysis of new initiative and project assessments. This position plays a critical role providing data analytics and support for various key deliverables and processes within Single Family and the broader organization!

Our Impact:

The hired incumbent will be responsible for supporting front-end business partners, provisioning monthly management reporting with external data owners to ensure source data quality aligns with business needs, assisting financial analysts with finding patterns and relationships in data for strategy discussion and working with financial analysts to build predictive models.

Your Impact:

  • Lead Single Family financial data analytics for key corporate forecasting processes, including the Annual Business Plan and DFAST
  • Provision monthly FHFA Gfee report and ad-hoc data requests for Gfee congressional annual report plus regulator policy considerations
  • Improve existing processes, including revamping/automating/enhancing processes by using technologies such as Tableau, SAS, Python, Power Query, SQL, etc.
  • Collect large data sets, transform, and build streamlined processes for financial reporting
  • Create models and use data analytics to identify drivers to financial results
  • Provision monthly sourcing market share results and provide results to SF division
  • Develop performance metrics applying sophisticated data mining skills
  • Develop into a subject matter expert on internal corporate models and partner with modeling and Financial Engineering teams in model development and system build
  • Work collaboratively within a transparent group that values accountability, learning and alignment
  • Understand and acquire strong business knowledge of SF sourcing, pricing, credit risk transfer and portfolio management

Qualifications:

  • College degree Math/Physics, Statistics, Economics/Financial Engineering, Data science, or a directly related quantitative field with at least 2+ years of related work experience. Advanced studies/degree preferred
  • Proficient in working with large-scale business data sets, experience and expertise in SAS, SQL, Python, Tableau, and/or BI tools
  • Demonstrate experience with relational database structures, research methods, sampling techniques, and system testing
  • Strong analytical logic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Independently determines and develops approach to solutions
  • Strong work ethics and learning capability
  • Demonstrate business acuity, intellectual maturity, and relationship management skills
