JOB SUMMARY: The Data and Application Analyst plans, organizes, and coordinates information services and meeting functional requirements related to any student information data and related data systems in the district. Works as part of a team under general supervision. Works together with the rest of the Information Technology team to provide the best possible customer support to the district.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum four years’ experience working in data processing in an educational or commercial environment.
3. Experience training users (10 – 20) in a classroom setting.
4. Proficient in MS Suite, Adobe Presenter, SQL, Tableau, Excel, Smartsheet’s, or like software and database programs.
5. Detail-oriented, analytical skills, diplomacy, technical aptitude, and ability to learn new technologies.
6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, school personnel, students, and the public.
7. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
8. A valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of a satisfactory driving record (WSP 5-year abstract), required at time of interview.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Coordinate and organize student information services (i.e., Skyward, CEDARS, etc.) and related data preparation activities, prioritize and coordinate work in collaboration within the department, with other departments and with external agencies to assure work is performed in an accurate, effective, and timely manner according to appropriate guidelines, procedures, and regulations.
2. Coordinate vendor contacts and integrations with various systems (i.e., curriculum related systems, etc.) that impact schools and the classroom to assure accurate and secure data import and export as required.
3. Serve as a liaison and provide supports to Teaching and Learning Services on critical systems to ensure seamless integration of all curriculum and assessment systems.
4. Provide support to district departments and schools to integrate Skyward data into other district systems.
5. Coordinate the preparation and maintenance of various federal, state and district required reports.
6. Import and export data, analyze, and review information to identify district’s disposition/compliance within corresponding programs for the purpose of meeting Washington State reporting requirements, regulation changes and FERPA compliance.
7. Coordinate and conduct training for new and current users for the purpose of providing instructions in new and revised applications, reporting procedures, standards, and device usage.
8. Monitor data for accuracy, develop and update user documentation and advise building staff with student information reporting policies and procedures for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the district’s data systems.
9. Provide system documentation, support, training materials, and direct training for staff on usage and application of department-supported software in both daily and classroom-based formats for the purpose of ensuring that staff is knowledgeable about the system. 10. Provide technical and analytical support to technical and non-technical users and central office program staff to assess student records data processing needs, recommend solutions incorporating the use of system software, developing custom reports, data views and participating in special projects.
11. Support departmental needs and participate in training, conferences, webinars, etc. necessary for the purpose of sustaining student information system operations (i.e., Skyward, CEDARS, etc.) and improving effectiveness.
12. Maintain a safe working environment and work practices.
13. Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.

18. Sit for prolonged periods of time with exposure to visual display terminals.
19. Occasionally travel between school sites and to other districts, attend conferences, WSIPC, ESD 133 and OSPI.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
1. State K-12 student information management principles, practices, and techniques; state regulations and reporting requirements applicable to student information (CEDARS, Assessment, etc.) and records retention; FERPA and HIPPA confidentiality regulations as applies to students.

Pay: $91,953.00 - $109,670.00 per year
