Select Sires, Inc. seeks individuals to join our team as Data Engineer. This salary-exempt position is at our Plain City, OH facility and reports to the Director of Data Services.
Specific duties and responsibilities of a Data Engineer include, but are not limited to,
- Serve as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission: To enhance the productivity and profitability of dairy and beef producers, Select Sires is committed to be the premier provider of highly fertile, superior genetics accompanied by effective reproductive- and herd-management products and services.
- Write tooling to automate tasks related to moving, storing, and sharing data.
- Assist with implementation of tooling.
- Manage data lake structure, content, and permissions.
- Monitor and manage processes and tooling for performance and reliability.
- Advise people on non-date teams about how to better move, store, and share data.
- Maintain fluency in API’s, event streams, and file-based data sources.
- Document processes and tooling.
- Participate in a guild with other data engineers to identify common challenges and provide common solutions.
