DCBOH PH Workforce - CDS-Communicable Disease Specialist Job at AmeriCorps
DeKalb County Board of Health (DCBOH) Public Health Workforce Initiative aims to increase the public health workforce by providing opportunities for learning experiences and on-the-job training to advance more equitable health outcomes for underserved communities in DeKalb County, Georgia. Members will work with DCBOH’s program staff to learn how to manage and operate public health-related programs that will help meet communities’ public health needs by providing capacity, support, and increased awareness of COVID -19 testing and vaccinations. The members’ roles and responsibilities will focus on Community engagement, health promotion, support, and direct services. This is a full-time position, living allowance of $17,500, 1700 hours during the service year, approximately 35 hours per week, and a college graduate is required.
Member Duties : Assists in identifying and obtaining treatment for clients with Tuberculosis and providing DOT-Directly Observed Therapy to high-risk latent TB infected clients, cases, and contacts. Health screenings, education, and preventive therapy services provided to enhance compliance.
