Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Degree Completion, the Degree Completion Coordinator handles the day-to-day operations of the college’s Degree Completion Program which is designed to allow qualifying alumni/students who leave Berklee without receiving their degree the opportunity to obtain a bachelor's degree through remote coursework. This is achieved by a combination of online courses at Berklee Online, online or remote coursework through Berklee’s campus program, and/or transfer credit from non-Berklee institutions. This is a high-touch, individualized program for every student who inquires, and the Degree Completion Coordinator—in collaboration as needed with Berklee Online academic advisors—is the main point of contact for students throughout their time in the program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Handles student intake through Salesforce, including initial degree completion eligibility evaluations of student transcripts and related data management.
  • In coordination with the Associate Director of Degree Completion, creates customized degree completion plans that detail all fulfillment options for every identified remaining requirement.
  • Provides the approved custom plans to students, and advises them on degree completion paths in accordance with their academic needs, connecting them with appropriate department representatives as needed.
  • Conducts exceptional customer service, communicating professionally and effectively with staff, students and academic leaders as needed.
  • Maintains Salesforce database containing relevant information and profiles for all prospective degree completion candidates.
  • Executes the academic record rebuild process from archival records for alumni whose historical credits have not yet entered the current academic record database.
  • Elevates cases as necessary to the Associate Director of Degree Completion.
  • Participates in all Degree Completion Team meetings.
  • Processes Change of Major/Program forms, and corresponding re-enrollment processes initialized by receipt of Alumni Degree Completion Contracts.
  • Registers degree completion students into Berklee Online courses that are in line with official degree completion plans.
  • Transfers credit for degree completion students from Berklee Online to Berklee campus transcripts.
  • Assists the Associate Director of Degree Completion in data collection as needed for reporting.
  • Fosters and maintains a workplace climate that is supportive of all employees regardless of their identity, respectful of difference, and genuinely open to multiple perspectives.
  • Provides assistance to the Online Registrar Team in other projects as assigned.
  • Other related degree completion duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in music or a related field.
  • Two years of customer service experience.
  • Student advising experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Knowledge of institutional curriculum, both on-campus and online preferred.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to adapt to change.
  • Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague preferred.
  • Must be self-disciplined and possess strong time-management skills.
  • Must be very detail-oriented.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to work well and respectfully with various constituents, both internal and external.
