Currently, Seattle-Tacoma Box Company conducts manufacturing and supports assembly operations and warehouses in Alaska, Oregon and Washington. SeaCa Plastic Packaging's Finishing Department is looking to add an experienced and dedicated Finishing Die Cut Utility/Operator to our team at our Surprise, AZ location. The ideal candidate for this position will be someone who excels working in a demanding and fast paced environment and demonstrates excellent prioritization, decision making and time management skills.

This is an operator level position for work in a manufacturing environment. Training is provided to help you grow your career. You will be joining a crew of 3-9 people working as a team to accomplish the operating goals of the shift. Bonus pay can be earned as a member of the team that achieves their manufacturing goal. Work week is either 3 or 4 days or 7 days every 14 calendar days, you will have 50% of your days off. Typically, you earn 74 ½ hours of regular pay plus 6 hours overtime every 2-week rotation.

Work to be reviewed in 90 days, 180 days, and annually. All other reviews after will be annually or as needed.

Responsible for the plant safety and to exercise good judgement in all operations. Assists Operator running the machine to feed/stack plastic polypropylene sheets/containers. Responsible for assisting operators in the completion of the finishing process. Learn how to operate machines pre-feeder/stackers. This is an entry level position.

• Assist crew members and work to learn all aspects of machine operation
• Read and gain understanding of all factory card instructions as it relates to customer requirements
• Learn and understand dunnage and palletizing requirements
• Palletizes per factory card; verifies load counts are accurate and records them
• Performs regular machine cleanups and minor maintenance as instructed by crew member
• Immediately reports all safety, mechanical, or electrical problems to the operator/supervisor
• Recognize non-conforming product and advise operator/supervisor
• Able to use factory card to assemble tooling needed for each job
• Able to perform all duties of a machine helper
• Assist Operator of the machine, performing setups, monitoring, cleaning, and adjustments
• Keeps area clean and organized
• Performs similar job duties as required

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Writing, mathematical skills, and a basic mechanical understanding
• Two or more years’ experience with machine operation, preference in box plant
• Experience with die cutters/flatbed cutters/printing presses
• Able to work under pressure and meet time deadlines

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to handle high stress environment
• Ability to withstand dusty and noisy conditions
• Ability to lift 50-80 lbs., push/pull 100 lbs.
• Ability to stand, bend or stoop for extended periods of time
