In this specific position, Advocates Inc. is seeking a caring person to provide 1:1 support for two young men with developmental disabilities , This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in his life by providing assistance so he can participate in everyday activities and achieve their goals, including independent living skills, safety skills, and their recreational activities, such as Basketball, Video Games, walking in the Mall and becoming more comfortable in the community. The ideal candidate is reliable, enthusiastic, playful, active, enjoys helping people, and has great communication skills. Please respond with a resume or summary of experience.


Goals include:

Safety awareness navigating the community while receiving physical guidance.

Independent living skills personal care tasks, making independent choices, and completing basic household tasks

Recreational activities going for walks, engaging in safe social distancing activities, and visiting places like the YMCA, parks, and the zoo


Hours and days
of work

Monday through Friday After 3 pm

Saturdays & Sundays

Flexible Scheduling up to 18 hours/week


Pay rate:
$23 per hour

Location: Wappingers Falls, NY


Reliable transportation is required. Background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by non-profit agency. In addition to hourly compensation, employees of Advocates can qualify for comprehensive health, dental, and other benefits including paid time off.
