Directional Drill Operator Job at Reliable Source Talent
Monday - Friday (some weekends and OT)
7am - 4pm (some days will be longer pending job)
Directional Driller Job Duties
- Operating a directional drilling rig to dig wells in various locations, such as on farms or other rural locations
- Communicating with other workers on site to coordinate tasks and resolve problems
- Conducting geological surveys to determine the best location for drilling based on the type of rock formation in the area
- Using computers to monitor drilling locations, track fluid levels in the well, and monitor other equipment such as pumps
- Installing casing in the well to reinforce the walls of the hole and prevent collapse
- Measuring the depth of the hole using tools such as a depth gauge or laser equipment
- Examining the rock face to identify cracks or fissures that could compromise the integrity of the well
- Observing safety procedures and following regulations to ensure the safety of workers on site
- Operating equipment such as a crane or a rig that supports the drill string in order to advance it into the ground
Directional Driller Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years experience as a directional driller
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work long hours, including nights and weekends
- Willingness to travel for extended periods of time
