Description:

  • Plans, coordinates and evaluates the activities of Anna’s Place in a manner reflecting the mission, vision and values of The Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia with particular attention to serving the guests of Anna’s Place and ensuring a space that is peaceful and hospitable for all guests, volunteers and staff.

  • Direct and oversee the ministry of Anna’s Place including personnel, equipment, and the building

  • Develop and manage the budget with the Sisters of St. Francis finance office; maintain appropriate financial records and perform necessary banking tasks

  • Collaborate with the staff of Anna’s Place to recruit, screen, orient, and assign volunteers

  • Develop and nurture relationships with appropriate personnel within faith communities, educational institutions, social service agencies, and civic officials within the city of Chester and Delaware County

  • Collaborate with other offices and ministries/partnerships of the Sisters of St. Francis: e.g., Sisters of St. Francis Foundation, Drexel Neumann Academy, Chester Community Coalition, and ACCESS

  • Seek funding/develop donor relationships to support Anna’s Place services

  • Develop a resource/referral file of people, agencies, and services that are available for guests of Anna’s Place

  • Maintain communication with the administrator of St. Katherine Drexel Parish and the director of sponsorship. Prepare and present an Annual Report for the leadership team of the Sisters of St. Francis

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field

  • Effective written and oral communication skills

  • A welcoming and professional manner in relating with others

  • Knowledge of and commitment to promote the values and mission of the Sisters of St. Francis and Anna’s Place with a desire to serve and walk with those who are poor and living on the margins

  • A collaborative and inclusive approach to leadership of the ministry, engaging of partners within and beyond Anna’s Place

  • Ability to develop and oversee programs in response to need, and budgeting and financial management to sustain programs and services

  • Effective management, staff supervision, volunteer coordination, organizational, goal-setting, and prioritization skills

  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the emerging needs of Anna’s Place guests and the ministry

  • Basic computer and fundraising skills

    • Willingness and ability to travel locally
    • Able to maneuver stairs
    • Able to bend and carry some items (donations/supplies)
