Position Summary
We are looking for a Director, Legal Operations, who will assess, develop, implement, and continuously improve systems, processes and workflows to deliver efficient legal services and solutions for our evolving global business.
Responsibilities & Duties
  • Identify and analyze process inefficiencies and implement process improvements, working with applicable teams to:
    • Develop systems and processes to enhance our productivity, efficiency, and the quality of services provided to our global business
    • Research global legal department benchmarking and implement technology solutions and innovations to automate and enhance efficiency
    • Build data systems and processes
    • Create effective service delivery models, structure service provider relationships, reduce and control costs and maintain appropriate balance of outside and in-house resource deployment
  • Create and implement training with applicable stakeholders across cross-functional and cross-regional teams
  • Spearhead law firm and vendor management, including initiating and managing RFP, diligence and onboarding processes and assisting the legal department with negotiations of optimal rates and fee structures and management of firm and vendor relationships
  • Manage legal billing administration, systems, platforms, processes and reporting
  • Manage fund billing and reporting
  • Quarterback financial management of the legal department. Manage global legal spend, expense and cost forecasting, budget, and accrual process.
  • Support legal department hiring and staffing research and processes, talent management, department communications and branding, team building and retreat planning
  • Assist CLO organization with business planning and goal setting. Develop, track and report appropriate metrics and benchmarking through data analytics.
  • Create processes for capturing, communicating and effectively using legal knowledge and information (including managing and developing content for our internal employee web portal)
  • Be a business partner to other departments, driving and/or supporting initiatives, projects and activities across our global organization
  • Support projects, activities, systems and management of the CLO organization
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • 10+ years of legal operations experience
  • Experience working for a publicly traded company with global operations highly preferred
  • Demonstrated success in leading the development and implementation of processes and systems in a dynamic and evolving environment
  • Results-oriented with significant project, time, budget and change management experience
  • Focused on continuous improvement and efficiency
  • Data-driven, critical thinker with strong financial, analytical, problem-solving and research skills
  • User-friendly, customer service-oriented and responsive
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work independently and collaboratively with individuals across departments and levels, including our board and senior leadership team
  • Experienced and motivated to build team talent (including cross-regional and cross-functional teams). Builds trust with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of strong negotiation skills
  • Exercises good judgment
  • Team player with a positive attitude, strong work ethic and good sense of humor, who acts with urgency, agility, humility and willingness to “roll up sleeves” to get jobs of all sizes done with exacting standards
  • Strong background in technology and database/systems management
Hiring Salary Range of: $145,000-$177,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target & LTI) to be determined by the candidate’s locations, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
