Fulton Science Academy - Director of Development

Under the direction of the Head of School, the Development Director is charged with comprehensive responsibility for the planning, oversight, and execution of all aspects of fundraising, event planning, communication, and alumni and donor engagement. The Development Director is expected to accomplish the overall mission and vision of the school through inspirational and strategic leadership that reflects excellent communication, vision, integrity, impeccable moral character, and commitment to the institutional values.

Essential Responsibilities

● Establish an intentional, formalized development plan that is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the school.

● Develop and execute implementation of all fundraising initiatives and programs including, but not limited to, Annual Fund, Capital Campaigns, Grant Writing, and Planned Giving.

● Guide marketing and communication, building on the school’s brand recognition.

● Work with HOS in identifying and building relations with potential donors and prospects for major gifts.

● Engage the school community and greater Atlanta community through social media, and face-to-face networking.

● Maintain constituency lists, files and giving records

● Keep records of all real-time interactions with potential donors and gifts to school

● Manage donor database

● Prepare and distribute solicitation material and send reminders to donors who pledged contributions

● Attend regular meetings with key school leaders

● Guide Division Heads on any school related fundraising efforts

Qualifications

● Degree in Public Relations, Business, Communication, English, or other related field

● Experience in non-profit development, fund-raising, or independent schools

● Knowledge of, and an appreciation for, independent education

● Excellent communication and organizational skills

● Experience with donor software
