About Agape House of Worship (AHOW): AHOW is a nondenominational, Spirit-filled church located in Roselle, New Jersey, with an average weekly attendance of 400 to 500 people and growing. Our purpose is to be the church where everyone is welcomed and inspired to be and to do their best for God to be glorified. We are currently seeking a highly motivated, ministry-minded individual to be the Director of the Children’s Ministry.
Position Summary: The Director of the Children’s Ministry will work with executive leaders, gifted volunteer leaders, and workers to nurture children from ages 2 through 12 and their families in the love and grace of Jesus Christ. He/She will provide administrative leadership and direction; Develop and direct programming in line with the ministry's overarching goals; Develop and implement community outreach; Recruit and train volunteers for our children’s ministry, which is currently about 150 children strong and growing.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Help to cultivate a warm and friendly learning environment for children and families in AHOW.
- Help determine and select the appropriate child development knowledge to best meet the needs of AHOW’s children through curriculum selection, child discipline, classroom grouping, etc.
- Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers/workers for AHOW Children’s Ministry classes and events, worship services, and AHOW programs. Works cooperatively with all staff and volunteers.
- Communicates the needs of the children’s ministry to both the pastoral and executive leadership teams as appropriate.
- Responsible for organizing set-ups and stocking classrooms with necessary supplies.
- Works with the office and facility to coordinate sanitation and develop safety protocols, upgrades, repairs, etc.
- Provides or sources ongoing training for volunteers and regularly visits classes for the purpose of evaluation and teacher support in order to address any issues or emergencies that arise.
- Works with parents regarding any issue with their child; and refers to certified counselors as appropriate.
- Oversees the planning and implementation of children's ministry special events such as Vacation Bible School, Christmas Show, etc.
- Plans and leads monthly Children's ministry meetings. Attend weekly staff meetings and monthly ministry leaders' meetings.
- Works with other team members to develop the children's ministry annual budget and present it to the Board of Trustees.
- Helps to coordinate childcare for AHOW services and events as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED BEHAVIORS
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required. Knowledge and experience in Biblical interpretation, child development (and faith development), and religious and educational theory and practice.
- Has a personal, active, and growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
- An energetic and warm personality who is able to share the love of Jesus with children and families.
- Maintains confidentiality as appropriate and accountability with church resources.
Work Schedule: Part-time, an average of 15 hrs. a week. (Flex time allowed, consistent with assigned duties)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
