Position Summary
The Division of Business and Economics (BE) at Morehouse College invites applications for a full time, Director of Career Placement. The individual will work with the divisional leadership, faculty/staff, students, alums and employers to develop career education, career identification and search programs, and place students in internships, co-op programs, and careers. This is an at-will position.

Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelors degree from an AACSB or SACSCOC accredited college/university in business, education, or related areas of study and related experience. Prior experience with career placement in higher education.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Preferred Qualifications: a master’s degree from a full-time, AACSB or SACSCOC accredited college/university in business, education, or related areas of study. Prior experience with career placement in higher education.
  • Successful applicants MUST demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, as well as strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a computer is required.


  • Must be able to read on a computer as necessary.

  • Ability to walk at a mild pace frequently.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Essential Duties/Responsiblities
  • Serve as primary liaison between the Division of Business and Economics, students and alumni, and potential employers.
  • Collaborate with and serve as a liaison to career placement at Morehouse College.
  • Connect and engage with employers and corporate partners about career opportunities.
  • Engage and inform students about job, internship, and coop opportunities.
  • Develop new contacts with external organizations to expand employment opportunities for students and alumni.
  • Supervise divisional recruiting and interview processes.
  • Coordinate communication with deans, department chairs and faculty to ensure the needs of career services and academic departments in the division are being met.
  • Provide career advising and education to students regarding the job-search process, interviewing, resume and letter writing.
  • Conduct workshops and seminars to prepare students for co-op, internship and job opportunities.
  • Coordinate employer information sessions with divisional faculty and students.
  • Monitor, track and evaluate placement metrics and targets set by dean.
  • Other duties as assigned by Dean.
