Belmont Academy Charter School is an "A" school, a School of Excellence, and Accredited through Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Council. We are looking for a motivated, well-qualified Director of Finance (includes Bookkeeping and Payroll) and Human Resource. We desire to find a team player who will fit our culture of strong expectations for both academics and behavior. We are a fully accredited VPK through 12th Grade School with a team that has a strong work ethic, and willing to continue building on a foundation that has produced seven consecutive A's as determined by Florida Department of Education.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide leadership and direction for fiscal services to support instructional programs for educational excellence. Develop or assist with development of FTE projections. Respond to FTE audit reports. Assist in the preparation and administration of the annual school budget in conjunction with the CEO. Administer the schools human resources management and development program including, but not limited to, assisting to maintain all manuals, policies and procedures updated to comply with applicable state statutes and school policies. Serve as advisor to supervisory personnel in the resolution of personnel problems Participate in the process of developing the school compensation plans. Coordinate job description revisions Coordinate and supervise processing of all personnel correspondence; appointments and reappointments; employment contracts; computation of salaries and related information for payroll purposes; maintenance of personnel files. Serve as school’s key contact for drug / alcohol testing program; maintaining confidential records Serve as school retirement coordinator; assisting all personnel with retirement matters. Coordinate and supervise processing of fingerprint cards and follow-up on criminal history records; verifying and approving invoices. Assist in preparing agenda items for school board meetings. Assist in the acquisition and disposition of school-owned real property. Assist in overseeing the school’s payroll operation. Monitor school FTEs for the survey periods. Assist in responding to individual auditor concerns and questions during the audit period and coordinate the school's formal response to audits. Assist in supervising the preparation of financial reports. Assist in overseeing the required audit of internal accounts. Review the budget for the school. Provide assistance in the supervision of the school’s retirement program. Provide vision and leadership for implementation of technology in fiscal services. Provide leadership and assistance in the finance area to expedite the school's achievement of mission. Lead the employment contract process. Work to maintain effective community relations and interpret financial matters to the community. Assist in the development of school policies and administrative guidelines. Provide information to the CEO on the financial status of the school and the wide use of its resources through sound business management practices. Keep abreast of legal requirements and proposed changes in areas of responsibility and provide advice to the CEO as to their impact on the school. Supervise assigned personnel, conduct annual performance appraisals and make recommendations for appropriate employment action. Assist in the preparation of all required reports and maintenance of all appropriate records. Assist in maintaining records of all capital building projects and assist with determining projects for which capital outlay funds may be used. Maintain an orderly accounting filing system Maintain the chart of accounts consistent with “red book” accounting Manage the Purchase Order system following purchase order system policies. Document fixed assets within the accounting system Manage and issue checks for supplier invoices in a timely manner Locate best purchase pricing and take appropriate discounts on supplier invoices Issue checks for debt and scheduled payments as a course of business Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt obligations Maintain the school lunch program as its own cost center Issue invoices and ensure that receivables are collected promptly Record cash receipts, wire transfers and all forms of income Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank account Conduct periodic reconciliations of all benefit accounts to ensure their accuracy Issue financial statements monthly and/or more often as required Provide financial reporting information monthly to the CEO Maintain special fund (e.g. field trips) and restricted fund spreadsheets Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements including district surveys Manage and process all payroll as prescribed and in a timely manner Manage and maintain employee benefits records including insurance, retirement, sick leave and compensatory time Provide additional bookkeeping or project related services as designated Perform all other duties assigned.
