Gorgeous Floral is looking for a floral designer that is also a full-time manager. The ideal candidate is someone with innovative design and ideas - not only for Gorgeous Floral, but also for each unique property in our portfolio. This opportunity allows you to have creative vision for floral design in a multi-concept hotel, restaurant, catering, and lifestyle company. You will have a team of designers at your disposal and have flexibility to run the entire shop. The breathtaking space is newly renovated with outstanding waterfall views. Gorgeous Floral features a floor plan of retail and floral goods and has an amazing creative work room space. Gorgeous floral is part of Settlers Hospitality Group.

The Director of Floral Design plays an integral role in creating an authentic and distinctive aesthetic at each space.

Below are some of the duties involved:

  • Design and execute floral concepts aligned to property aesthetic and guest vision.
  • Order and maintain supply of fresh seasonal flowers, greenery, potted plants, retail items and decorative floral items for use in arrangements and displays.
  • Merchandising of entire store.
  • Build relationships with vendors, featuring local growers and purveyors.
  • Take orders in person, over the phone and from the website from customers, including special requests, delivery date and location and processing payment.
  • Consult with customers on budget and preferences to design and create arrangements based on specifications to provide satisfaction.
  • Coordinate and plan event floral and decorative needs with clients.
  • Explain care of arrangements for customers to prolong the life of the flowers for maximum enjoyment.
  • Maintain daily records of sales and orders for accounts for POS systems in person and online.
  • General administrative work – This includes, but is not limited, inventory, scheduling, payroll, employee handbook administration, onboarding and training employees.
  • Cash deposits and sales reconciliation.
  • Recruit, Hire and train the appropriate staff.
  • Cost containment and management of all products.
  • Ensure the set up or break down at start and end of workday as well as general cleaning and straightening of workspaces on daily basis.
  • Direct and coach the staff to build sales and creative culture of the shop.
  • Manage drivers and delivery at times deliver as necessary to clients.
  • During holiday season coordinate and install décor at our other local properties.
  • Collaborate with other department heads to ensure flawless execution of weddings and events across multiple properties, including off site events.
Requirements:

Job Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Management and Floral design experience are required.
  • Superior customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and pay attention to details.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed.
  • Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Schedule: Retail operation is open 5 days per week- full-time, including weekends
