Job Purpose:
Our next Director of Information Technology will be responsible for the management, strategy, and execution of IT infrastructure. They oversee technical projects in alignment with organizational goals, supervise a team of professionals, while working closely with management, external vendors and advisors.

Duties:
  • Hands-on technical expert supporting the configuration and operation of all computer, server and software related issues. Willing and able to roll up your sleeves to assist any member/activity within the IT team.
  • Works with CFO to align budgeting, strategic and technical planning and business processes to our organization mission and vision and strategic scorecard.
  • Creates long-term vision for the organization’s IT infrastructure and clearly communicates to all stakeholders so they understand the impact to their roles.
  • Lead and/or support cross departmental teams responsible for the strategy, planning, and execution of all technology related to Wellpoint and its subsidiary organizations.
  • Review recommendations for improvements and efficiencies related to all network upgrades, software/hardware changes and programs specific needs.
  • Supervises assigned department personnel which includes the following responsibilities, but are not limited to hiring, learning, scheduling, evaluating, and ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and the completion of all work performed by direct reports.
  • Ensures the ongoing feedback on customer satisfaction surveys will show continued improvement over each evaluation period. Maintains strong good will and trusted partner status across the organization.
  • Assesses and anticipates technology projects and recommends appropriate action and resources, including business case justification through to creation of requests for proposals and implementation planning for IT related projects.
  • Manages complex technical projects to improve IT delivery and operational performance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with an IT related focus.
  • Minimum six years related Information Technology experience, preferably in the nonprofit or health services industry.
  • A minimum of three years of supervisory/management experience is required.
  • Reliable transportation to conduct on-site learning throughout the state.
  • Understanding of project management principles and demonstrated application of them.
  • Experience with Microsoft licensing and working knowledge of Microsoft O365 – Outlook, Teams, Planner, OneNote, OneDrive, Power shell.
  • Working knowledge of Azure Active Directory
  • Experience with planning, installation, delivery, and management of a variety of SAAS (Software as a Service) applications.
  • Foundational understanding of Windows servers including Windows Hyper-V.
  • Hands on experience developing, overseeing, and managing wireless technologies and firewalls.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills, detail oriented, highly effective verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate an ability to effective understanding and practice of cultural humility and ability work and communicate respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficient in the usage of computer software; demonstrate an understanding of computer file systems and databases, e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Teams, ADP, etc.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the cultural differences among diverse groups and the need to adapt service provision to match these differences in respectful ways.
  • Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) - Wellpoint (formerly SaintA) employees may be eligible for loan forgiveness under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.
  • Interaction with personnel, clients, family members, visitors, volunteers, interns, and vendors under all conditions and circumstances.
  • Fast paced, flexible work schedule includes evenings and some weekends to accommodate program need.
  • Physical exam, drug screen, motor vehicle report, and background checks are required for this position.
