Description:
The Columbia Community is seeking a Director of Life Enrichment to join our Christian ministry that is dedicated to enriching the quality of life for seniors of all faiths. In this role, the employee will report to the Executive Director and plan, organize, implement and evaluate activities and programs for residents and patients of the Community.
Duties will include, but not limited to, the following:
- Assessments of new residents and record keeping of resident participation
- Calendar and newsletter preparation and distribution
- Lead groups daily with activities and one-on-one visits
- Encourage residents to participate in activities
- Assist in set-up/clean-up for special events and parties
- Direct and manage Life Enrichment Coordinators with a team approach
Required:
- South Carolina Licensed Qualified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or South Carolina Licensed Qualified Activities Professional and
- is Eligible for Certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist, or as an activities professional by a recognized accrediting body on or after October 1, 1990; or
- Has 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program with the last 5 years, one of which was full-time in a therapeutic activities program; or
- Is a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant; or
- Has completed a training course approved by the state.
Candidates with experience will be asked share examples of their work.
